Netherlands Cricket Team partners with Nordek as Title Sponsor for ICC World Cup 2023

AMSTERDAM, Sept. 28, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — BENGALURU, 24 Sept.: In preparation for the highly anticipated ODI Cricket World Cup 2023, the Netherlands Cricket Team has announced Nordek, a global blockchain and Web3 Payments company, as its title sponsor for the upcoming tournament.

Nordek’s sponsorship of Team Netherlands, famously known as ‘The Flying Dutchmen’, follows the trend of major fintech and edutech players becoming title sponsors for various cricket teams, including Team India.

Founded by blockchain entrepreneurs Mr. Kashyap and Mr. Kishor, Nordek aims to capitalize on its presence in the European blockchain market. This market is projected to experience significant growth, expanding from a valuation of US$ 1.2 billion in 2021 to a substantial US$ 59.1 billion by 2028.

The founder and promoter of Nordek, Mr. Kishor and Mr. Kashyap, expressed their excitement about venturing into the world of cricket, stating that their aim is to reach global sports fans and students who can explore more opportunities in blockchain. Nordek aims to become a business and consumer-friendly blockchain ecosystem for the mainstream adoption of web3 payments. They believe that cricket fans will also be drawn to Nordek’s fast and EVM-compatible Network Blockchain.

Monica Visser, CEO of the Netherlands Cricket team, emphasized the significance of the partnership with Nordek, stating that the collaboration will not only build trust in the evolving fintech industry but also open up new market avenues for learning and growth.

By entering the cricket world, Nordek plans to establish its brand presence in countries where blockchain is gaining traction, such as the Middle East. Nordek also provides blockchain education to universities and colleges, offering free courses to more than 100 educational institutions.

The global blockchain market is expected to reach $56 billion by 2026, and Nordek aims to be a major player in this market.

In terms of the Netherlands Cricket Team, they have arrived in India for an acclimatization camp in Bengaluru. They will play against local sides before facing India and Australia in pre-tournament warm-up matches in Thiruvananthapuram. The Dutchmen qualified for the World Cup in July, ahead of two-time champions West Indies.
